London Edition

‘Poems, chiefly in the Scottish Dialect’ by Robert Burns

Printed for A. Strahan; T. Cadell in the Strand, London and W. Creech in Edinburgh in 1787.

This edition contained the ‘stinking’ misprint in ‘Address to the Haggis’, suggesting that the copies of the Edinburgh 2nd edition, which were used as copy text for the London edition, were from the end of the print run.

The Mitchell has several copies of the London edition in its collection. This particular copy is from The Andrew Bain Memorial Collection.
