Galician

Robert Burns; Antoloxia - translated by Alfonso Valasquez

Published 1990

This volume contains translations of various Burns poems into Galego or Galician. This Romance language is spoken by about 3-4 million people living in the north-west corner of Spain. Some linguists consider modern Galician and modern Portuguese as dialects or variations on the same language but this is hotly debated.

Galician is recognised as one of Spain’s four official languages, the others being Catalan, Castilian and Basque.
