Much is happening as an untutored guest, visitor or novice, demands something of the waiter...whatever it is has truly shocked the assembled company big time and something is about to happen! I am a great fan of H.M.Bateman who, in the 1930s, tackled similar social subject matter often titling pictures with – “The man who......”
